Conference Week Practices 3/2 to 3/6

  • MONDAY:
    • Practices will be at the normal times for the Monday events.
  • TUESDAY:
    • Normal times for Reach for the Stars, Food Science and Ornithology.
    • NO MACHINES OR DENSITY LAB PRACTICE
  • WEDNESDAY:
    • NO Water quality or Disease detectives.
  • THURSDAY
    • 12:15 – 2:30 Anatomy and Physiology
    • 2:30 – 3:30 Heredity
    • 4:00 – 5:30pm Experimental Design
    • 5:30 – 6:30 Circuits – same time
  • FRIDAY
    • CRIME: OPEN LAB drop in and practice substance identification from 12 – 2
    • ELG 11 – 3 Come when you can, leave sometime before 3:00pm. Gym will be open for us to fly.
    • Dynamic 2 – 3

2/14 – 2/15 Blue and Gold Tournament

The blue and gold tournament is almost here! Check out the practice schedule to plan your day. The following are some frequently asked questions that you may be wondering about.

Do I have to stay at school all day Friday and Saturday?
A: No, look at the competition schedule and plan your time so that you are able to take a test for your event in one of the given time slots. Some events conflict so look carefully to make sure you have haven’t over scheduled yourself.

Do I need to go to all of the time slots for my event?
A: Nope, only one time slot per event.

Will there be a place to sit and study between my events?
A: Yes, we plan to have the cafeteria available as a hang out space between events.

Am I competing against the 9th Graders?
Each event will rank students by grade as well as by the overall winner. There will be 1st to 3rd places awarded by grade as well as a medal to the overall winner regardless of grade.

Friday Feb 7 – White Pines Buc Blaster impact on practices

Announcements concerning Friday Feb 7, 2020
6th grade practices are cancelled for ELG and Crime Busters to avoid conflicting with the White Pines Buc Blaster. ELG students should plan to fly on Sunday. Crime students can work on samples in the waiting room Tuesday and Wednesday. Dynamic Planet will still be practicing – check your google classroom and/or come late.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE include what events you are participating in on the google slide presentation of our team. STOP messing with other peoples slides … remember that google provides an editing history and your coaches can see what you have added – we expect you to be kind 100% of the time and appropriate ALWAYS!!!!!! Put in a picture or we will PUT ONE IN FOR YOU!

Friday 1/24 Practices and Social info

FRIDAY PRACTICES:

  • NO ELG
  • CRIME 3:30 – 4:30 for 7th – 9th graders: for folks attending the social – you may stay until the social. You can even continue to work on crime.  
  • CRIME 4:30 – 5:30 for 6th graders, 9th graders can stay and work on skills.
  • Dynamic 4:30 – 5:30 for people going to the social
  • Dynamic 5:30 – 6:30 for those not attending the social. 

CONCESSION STAND will be opening at 5:05 and any science olympiad student can purchase food at this time.  The “meal deal” is 2 pieces of pizza, pop, and chips for $5 or pizza for $2 and pop for $1. If you are staying after practice and attending the social you need to buy a wristband for the social from Mrs. Jaeger.  
Traffic consideration .… if you will be picking up a child at 5:30.  I suggest the North/Auditorium end of the school 

Snowy Sunday 1/19/2020

PRACTICES ARE ON! However, we know that the conditions can vary greatly from in Grand Haven out to Grand Haven and Robinson Townships. Due to blowing and drifting, the road crews kept to the main roads last night. Please use your best judgement and if parents deem it necessary for safety, please stay home.

Today’s Practices are

  • ELG flying 11:00 – 1:00 in the LAKESHORE gymnasium
  • Aerial Scramble White Pines students  (6/7) : 12:30 to 1:30 pm at White Pines
  • Aerial Scramble Lakeshore students (8/9): 1:30 to 2:30 pm at White Pines
  • Mousetrap: all participants should attend 2:30 – 5:30, WP shop
  • Ping Pong Parachute: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm, White Pines gym
